Maybe I’ll Sit In The Sun

Johnny L.

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun

Stars will come down and then

I’ll be the one and then

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun

It’s been a long long time since I’ve been here

It’ll be a long time ‘till I’m back again

I used to feel this way most all the time

So long ago I can’t remember when

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun

Stars will come down and then

I’ll be the one and then

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun

I’ve taken full advantage of myself

I’ve moved up half the space in twice the time

I’ve disassembled and fused all the parts

‘Til I resemble a late-model Frankenstein

And as I watch the clouds accumulate

I start to see a lot of shapes I know

I see someone who looks a lot like me

Pounding square pegs into rounded holes

Maybe I’ll sit in the sun
